XTATIK LIMITED

Xtatik Limited is a music Production company incorporated in 1992.

It started as a family business and has remained so to date.
May 19th, 1984 , two young brothers, ages 11 and 9 formed Pranasonic Express (from Prana – “a breath of life” – where the family lived). They were joined by two other brothers, 14 and 12 years of age. The other members were neighbourhood friends.

In 1989, Pranasonic Express became Xtatik, managed by the parents of the founders of the band. On May 21st 1992 , Xtatik Limited was incorporated with the four (4) family members being the Directors and one other member. At present, the four Directors are all family members.

Early challenges included being a country based organization and its young leader considered as being “TOO YOUNG TO SOCA”, unavailability of finances, cautious producers, expensive recording studios and the unwillingness to carry the large group. The solo act – yes – the band – no. however, the focus of the company was teamwork, creativity, sacrifice and training.

Income was used for production work and investment savings. Also while working with top arrangers, the bandleader still very young at the time observed and became involved in the Engineering of the projects while the other young musicians played on the tracks.
Personal funds were used to purchase equipment to set up RUFNEX Recording Studio opened (1989/ 90) and to develop our own Record Label, MACHO MUSIC now changed to MAD BUL MUSIC. The recording studio is now called Ed Gordon Recording Studio opened and to protect our intellectual property, we have set up MASUSO Publishing (BMI).

Xtatik worked together as a team to gain the respect of those who controlled the music business – Hard work with the aim of achieving excellence was the approach. The group has been the trendsetters, so in 1997, they revolutionized SOCA music with the album “HEAVY DUTY”.

In 2002, Ed Gordon Recording Studio was opened for commercial business. In February 2003, Xtatik 5.0 was launched. The band took on a new look and a new approach to the music. Our musical presentation has taken the form of a production, “The Xtatik Circus” creating a new hype and freshness to the music, the industry and its fans.

Xtatik 5.0 and Xtatik Limited are highly respected in Trinidad and Tobago , the Caribbean and the Diasporas of New York, Toronto , Miami , Boston , London and many more.

Our challenges are now more complex but this adds strength to their focus. Their future prospects include international recognition and the satisfaction of being able to make a difference in a very volatile business.

The company is involved in live performances with its band Xtatik 5.0, recording, production, marketing and distribution through its studio, Ed Gordon Recording Studio and publishing through MASUSO Publishing (BMI).
